We are a locally rooted, globally connected social enterprise with the ambition to connect, inspire and support professionals within and beyond the public, private and third sectors working at ‘new frontiers’ to tackle the world’s most pressing social, cultural and environmental challenges.Hub historyImpact Hub Rotterdam is the third ever Hub of a growing constellation of Hubs worldwide.

The first Hub opened in Islington, London, in 2005 when a group of friends set out to create a collaborative workspace for those who combine the rigor of the entrepreneur with the passion of the activist to address intractable issues in the world. Soon they discovered many other pioneering spirits busy trying to change the world – the ‘kitchen-table pioneers’ – working alone at home, or from cafés. The idea was born to create a habitat for social innovation that borrowed from the best of a serviced office, an enterprise agency, a friendly café and a political arts space.

In February 2008, Impact Hub Rotterdam opened its own doors with a strong community of local change-makers around that would work hard to get the physical space ready. The first Hub outside the UK was born.Impact Hub RotterdamAnd it has a character and beauty of its own. Impact Hub Rotterdam is a unique member community. It is not a place where people sit behind their laptops and nothing happens but a place where members are curious about each other, get challenged and become engaged in building the Impact Hub they want to be part of.

The hosts connect talents, knowledge and resources to build a strong community of social entrepreneurs and stimulating new collaborations. Likewise they invite organisations and teams to come to Impact Hub for hosted unique experiences that inspire, challenge, empower and support.

Today, Impact Hub Rotterdam is run by a couple of committed entrepreneurs and a small pool of entrepreneurial member-hosts that together deliver what we call the Impact Hub Magic.
